| Still No Republican Nominee for Governor |

Kirk Dillard says his campaign not yet finished, as thousands of provisional and absentee ballots remain uncounted. The Hinsdale state senator trails colleague Bill Brady of Bloomington by just 400 votes out of the 750,000 cast on Tuesday. He does not want to rush a decision in light of the tight margin. "In a race this close, it is important that every vote counts," says Dillard. "I wish I could resolve this today, but the reality is that it takes time for the election authorities to do their job and for all of the votes to be counted." Dillard says he and Brady are “cordial” in their rivalry, but remain united in their opposition to Pat Quinn. Brady says he “respect’s Dillard’s decision…and is patient enough to wait until the 16th,” when the results will be certified. The downstate senator thinks his margin of victory is deceptively small and is confident he will eke out a victory.
