|
DeKalb County’s Winter Storm Advisory has been upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning. The Winter Storm Warning is in effect for DeKalb County and all of northern Illinois from nine Monday night all the way until noon on Wednesday. The National Weather Service says we’ll get a total of eight to ten-inches of snow. Light snow will begin early Monday evening. The snowfall is expect to be just light to moderate in intensity throughout the Warning period, but the Weather Service says the long duration will result in up to 10-inches of snow. The other hazard will be blowing and drafting snow, especially Tuesday night through Wednesday morning. The Weather Service says winds will increase to 15 to 25-miles an hour with gusts up to 35-miles-and-hour and may cause ground blizzard and near whiteout conditions in rural areas.
